Objective: To determine the safety and effectiveness Tui Na as treatment for spasticity in the muscles of stroke patients. The study evaluated the effects of Tui Na on muscle spasticity in stroke patients. Two groups were randomly chosen from a sample of 14 stroke patients with intact neurological function. At post stroke, they were treated with Tui Na (nontraditional treatment) or conventional medical therapy, paired with physiotherapy for 4 months. Researchers conducted a test of physical function and muscular weakness at the end of the four-month period.
Tui Na was an impact on the mean improvement in disability score (MDS) however it did not have any effect on the mean muscle function or muscle function at the conclusion. Conventional treatments included regular corticosteroids and nitroglycerin injections, transcutaneous electrical stimulation, radiofrequency ablations laser beam therapy and local anesthetics. Six of seven patients who received Tui Na had improved (ranging from mild to severe), while eight of nine patients who received standard treatments did not show any improvement. These results show the value of Tui Na in the recovery of stroke patients however no conclusive conclusion can be drawn about the impact on cognition, emotional well-being, or sleep quality. These areas will be explored in more detail by future studies.
Effectiveness and Safety There were no adverse reactions in the acute phase of the trial in either group. One post stroke trial gave patients oral medications to treat cervical radiculopathy. Patients in either group did not experience any effects from the drugs. Patients who received loperamide had no pain relief or a decrease in fever. However, the investigators believe that the drug could be effective in the short-term treatment of neck pain that is acute among smokers.
Study by Chun et al. Chun and colleagues. reported that acupuncture treatment resulted in significant improvements in the perception of pain as well as ability to perform basic physical tasks. The researchers stressed the importance of conducting large numbers of randomised controlled trials to determine the effectiveness of acupuncture in the management of cervical radiculopathy. The researchers concluded that further research is required to confirm the results and determine if acupuncture is effective in treating cervical radiculopathy. The current data do not support the use acupuncture to treat spinal cord injuries.
Chung et. Chung et. performed a meta-analysis. Chung and. found an improvement in nerve damage in patients who received Tui Na therapy. The effect was not significant (odds -0.40) however, the effect was statistically significant (confidence interval -0.15 to -0.2). This study is important due to the number of studies in this field is very limited; furthermore, it is unclear if the improvement seen in patients was caused by the treatment of acupuncture or the effect of the treatment on nerves. The higher score for pain in those who received Tui Na therapy for chronic neck pain symptoms However, it suggests that it is an alternative to traditional treatments.
A systematic review by Albers and coworkers revealed that tui na therapy had positive effects on patients suffering from cervical radiculopathy. The majority of these studies were conducted in the USA and
Prenatal massage Canada. There were many participants from various cities, and the quality of the research was not high. The pooled effect was small (pooled effect size -0.15). These studies prove the efficacy of Chinese medicine in managing chronic disability and pain.
There are a number of reasons for why some studies are better than others. This includes selection of study design, reporting bias, and other bias factors and the characteristics of the treatment arm (whether it was placebo or active). The use of different assessment tools can also lead to variability. The biggest issue with questionnaires used in controlled studies that are randomised is that they have a poor
김해출장 reproducibility, and they don't permit researchers to evaluate possible outcomes with accuracy.
